This website used to have an entire page dedicated to the way The Bears Communications actually worked. They started in the late 80s, already having a background in print and art working techniques. But it was in the late 80 that they started using computer technology, trying to envision and put into practice all the possible combinations that would make their clients satisfied. Along the years, they started to focus their work on the production of logos and identities, on book cover design and book illustration and also on annual reports and illustrated brochures of all kinds. The intent of the team was to work in various styles and do projects of various extents so that they would meet the requirements of different types of customers.
Later they became more involved and interested in technology, namely in the internet and in the World Wide Web. Their website had links that made it possible for the visitors of the website to actually see detailed examples and excerpts of the team’s work. They gave links to a Book Gallery; also there was a Website Graphics link.
The way the company worked was the following: it was possible to email or fax the initial brief , as well as various comments, suggestions or visual support information. The team would then produce about two or three design schemes for every brief. They would send their customers the two or three design schemes via Internet as an Adobe Portable Document Format. Sometimes, they just posted it, or they could post it as well as sending it via Internet, depending on the customer’s choice.
The final proofs , the Cromalins as well as the pre-press films would be output through the bureau the firm had in London and also via the Amsterdam bureau.
And what’s very important is that the team both operated and supported equal opportunities policies.
